Lake Rules
To preserve the peace, safety, and well-being of both our guests and our fish, we kindly ask all visitors to familiarise themselves with the following rules before their stay. These guidelines are designed to ensure that everyone enjoys a respectful, safe, and memorable experience at our fishery.
Failure to comply with these rules may result in removal from the site without refund.
General Conduct
Please respect the tranquillity of the lake and your fellow guests. Shouting, loud music, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated. A single warning will be issued; continued disturbance will result in removal from the site.
The use or possession of illegal drugs or substances is strictly prohibited.
Unfortunately, pets are not permitted on site.
Visitors or family members may only attend if pre-authorised by management.
Smoking or vaping is not permitted inside the shepherds hut, communal unit or shower / toilet units.
Please dispose of all litter responsibly. Cigarette ends, bottles, and waste must be placed in the bins provided. Should a bin be full, please contact us via WhatsApp for collection.
To preserve the health of our fish and the balance of our ecosystem, all bait used on site must be purchased directly from us. This allows us to carefully monitor the quantity and quality of feed entering the lake, ensuring consistent growth rates and maintaining the exceptional condition of our stock. Bringing external bait onto the premises is strictly prohibited. Any guest found using outside bait will be subject to a £25 daily surcharge and may be asked to remove the bait immediately. Payment of this surcharge does not authorise the continued use of non-approved bait.
Fires are permitted only in the designated firepits provided. Firepacks and kindling are available to purchase on site. Guests are responsible for ensuring fires are fully extinguished before leaving them unattended.
In the unlikely event of a fire, please vacate the shepherds hut immediately, leaving belongings behind, and assemble in the car park.
Swimming, paddling, or entering the water is strictly prohibited. Any guest found in the lake will be asked to leave immediately, without refund, due to serious health and safety risks.
Guests are liable for any damage caused to accommodation, equipment, or facilities. Costs may be deducted from the security deposit.
To maintain a peaceful environment, noise must be kept to a minimum after 10:00 PM.
The lake is exceptionally deep and presents significant safety risks. Entering the water — including swimming, wading, or paddling — is strictly prohibited under all circumstances. Guests do so entirely at their own risk, and the management accepts no responsibility for injury, loss, or damage resulting from any unauthorised entry into the water. For safety reasons, children must be supervised at all times while on site. Parents and guardians are fully responsible for ensuring that children remain a safe distance from the water’s edge. We recommend the use of life jackets for children as a precaution.
Fishing Rules
Our fishing regulations are designed to safeguard the health of our stock and ensure that all anglers enjoy the finest experience possible.
Bite alarms with receivers must be used at all times.
No fixed-lead rigs are permitted.
A minimum of 15lb mainline must be used for carp angling. Braided mainline is not allowed.
Barbed or micro-barbed hooks only, minimum size 6.
No leaders (including leadcore or alternatives). Rig tubing only is permitted.
To maintain fish health standards, please do not bring your own landing net, weigh sling, or cradle. All essential fish-handling equipment is provided on site and inspected daily. Damage or misuse will be charged to your security deposit.
Bait boats are welcome but must be used considerately — never across other anglers’ swims. Bait boats can be rented from us if available.
No nuts are permitted. Nut-derived boilies or flavourings are acceptable & can be purchased from us.
Particles may only be used if purchased on site.
Only high-quality carp pellets from reputable brands may be used. Pellets intended for animal feed or bulk agricultural use are strictly prohibited. These pellets can be purchased on site.
Bait is subject to inspection at any time by our staff.
Rods must never be left unattended. If you leave your swim, your rods must be reeled in and recast upon return.
All carp must be treated with an approved Carp Care Kit, which each angler must have in their possession.
Fish must be returned to the water promptly — no retaining or prolonged photography sessions.
An unhooking mat must be used for every capture. Fish should only be released using a retainer sling.
Do not carry fish over gravel or swim boards by hand or in a landing net. Any injury to a fish resulting from mishandling will incur a charge.
All anglers must hold a valid EA Rod Licence.
